All questions regarding transaction monitoring

Most questions about the monitoring of transactions and our Transaction Recorder can be found on this page. If you can't find the question you were looking for, please contact us and we will respond to you as soon as we can.

1. Where can I download the transaction recorder?

The Transaction Recorder is available as a free download. If you want more information, please visit the info page of our Transaction Recorder.

2. I get an error in the reports after uploading a new transaction to my account, 'Element [...] is not found'. What can I do?

Our transaction consultants can help you to implement your transactions. Please send us a description of your transactions or scenarios, including URLs, the data that should be used to fill out your forms, login details when applicable, and any other information you can give us. For example:

Step 1. Go to URL xxxx
Step 2. Click on link xxxx
Step 3. Fill in login details xxxx

We will start to implement your transactions as soon as possible. Uptrends will not charge you for this service.

3. After installing and running the Transaction Recorder, I get an error message.

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.mshtml'

For this particular error, please try this download. Download and install this file, and restart the transaction recorder.

4. Why is it that a transaction can contain more than one probe?

A transaction can contain more than one probe, because during a transaction multiple web pages are loaded, and we count one probe for each web page. Filling in a text field for example will cost you no extra probes, because you find yourself still in the same page.

5. Is it possible to search for dynamic keywords within a web page?

Yes, this is possible. You can use this function e.g. to monitor if a certain web page contains new information. Our transaction consultants can help you set this up.

6. Can a transaction fill in a date-dependent value in a textfield?

Yes, it is possible to let the transaction fill in a textbox (e.g. today's date, from today until 30 days, the current time minus 2 hours, etc.). Our transaction consultants can help you to set this up.
