Uptrends expands global monitoring network in USA

We are happy to inform you that the Uptrends network of monitoring stations expands again. We have added new checkpoints in New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In the near future we will add more checkpoints in different countries. We will keep you informed. The IP numbers of the new checkpoints are:

• New York 72.9.104.178
• San Francisco 207.246.200.67
• Las Vegas 207.239.176.12
• Los Angeles 216.151.147.33

The new checkpoints will automatically appear in your settings. If you have selected random checkpoints, Uptrends will automatically add these checkpoints to the network. If not, you can add the checkpoints manually.

New XML feature

From now on you can also use the new Uptrends XML feature. With our XML feature you can for example:

- Publish data from an Uptrends account.

- Copy the data to your own database, to do data mining.

- Transform the data and make it part of your own standard business reporting.

- Incorporate the latest status of your website and servers in your existing operational monitoring environment.

Form submission monitoring

We recently introduced the possibility to use form submission in HTTP and HTTPS probes. Forms are widely used to allow your website visitors to submit data to your website. Your web application may contain forms such as a newsletter application form, search criteria in a search page, or a login page.

We allow you to determine which specific data should be used to send to your form pages, so your Uptrends probes are able to test search queries, shopping carts, requests for information, and login attempts. By using form submission for your login page, you can even verify pages that are usually only available for logged in users.

To use form submission in your probe, create a new probe in Account setup and specify the page that contains the form. Go to the Advanced tab and change the Http method to ‘Post’, and use the ‘Form variables’ section to specify the values for your form.
