Website Performance Monitoring tests of 52 Global Car Brands –The results may surprise you
Uptrends publishes the website uptime report for 52 Global Car Brands
Curious to know the website performance of the world’s top car manufactures, Uptrends- the leading provider of website, transactions and server monitoring services, decided to monitor the websites of 52 of them.
Uptrends monitored the availability of these website between the period of September, 11th to October 21st, from a global network of 100 checkpoints with a monitoring interval period of 5 minutes.
Of the monitored websites, 43 of the car maker companies (83%) maintained a website uptime of 99.9% or higher. 25 websites of the 52 sites had an uptime of 100% which is an superb performance rating. Only 9 websites performed at a lesser standard, with Suzuki, Maserati and Nissan having the distinction of consisting of the bottom three performers.
The average uptime for the entire group of websites was 99.85%, which means that over the monitored time period, each website had an average downtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes.

Methodology
Uptrends tested the availability of the front page of each website, at 5 minute intervals, using over 100 global checkpoints. If a website was not able to be reached, a second checkpoint from a different location performed another availability check. If the website was still not available, it was defined as an error. During the research period, only the availability of the front page was examined. Scheduled maintenance periods were not factored into these test results. For the period when a website was available, it was registered as uptime. During the period when errors were generated, it was registered as downtime.
