Everything is cool when you’re part of a team – and in this lesson you’ll discover how to create new operators and operator groups so that everyone is on the same page regarding the status of your monitors.
What is an operator?
An operator is a user that resides within an Uptrends account. There are two classes of operator: administrator, and operator.
Each operator has their own login credentials, and can easily be added to operator groups, duty rosters, and alert definitions.
How do I add an operator?
To add an operator:

Click the + button next to

You can now add your new operator’s e-mail address, password, full name, backup e-mail address, mobile phone number (start with a + sign and your country code, followed by the number with no dashes or spaces), and duty status. It is also possible to set the operator’s off-duty schedule on the Off-duty schedules tab, see the KB article Using off-duty schedules for more info.

What is an operator group?
An operator group contains a series of individual operators that share common access to monitor and alert definitions. Think of them as a way of quickly assigning similar settings to multiple operators.
How do I add an operator group?

- Click the + button next to .
- You will now be able to name your operator group and assign individual operators to the group.
- Once you have added the operators you wish to be in the group, click the button.
