Uptime credits are used by uptime monitors to track the availability and basic performance of your websites, servers, and web services.
Uptime credits
Uptime credits are calculated based on the number of monitors. Each uptime monitor you create and activate (in production or staging mode) consumes one credit.
Calculation: 1 credit = 1 uptime monitor
The check interval does not affect credit calculation. This means you can continuously monitor your website’s uptime without worrying about using extra credits for more frequent checks. You can set your preferred check interval, such as 5 or 60 minutes based on your monitoring needs while keeping credit usage consistent.
Examples
Scenario A: Single website monitoring
Suppose you want to monitor the availability of your pricing page every 30 minutes. This single-page website displays prices and subscription plans for users. You need to create a single monitor to track the behavior of this page, which consumes one credit for this scenario.
Scenario B: Multiple website monitoring
Suppose you have three different websites that you need to monitor for your airline services:
- Flight search page — lets clients search for available travel destinations locally and internationally, start planning, or potentially book their trips.
- Booking website page — lets clients book their chosen flight destinations.
- Promotions page — displays marketing campaigns, highlights, or special offers that clients might be interested in.
Each page, although connected, has different behaviors and URLs. You need to create three monitors, one for each page, which consumes 3 credits for this scenario.
Scenario C: Multiple website monitoring with different monitor modes
Suppose you are running an A/B test for a new marketing website and want to monitor the uptime of the following pages:
- Redesigned homepage A — a work-in-progress website that changes frequently and is mainly used by developers and internal stakeholders to review updates.
- Redesigned homepage B — a newly redesigned website to early adopter users.
- Homepage — existing homepage currently live in production.
Each page behaves differently, so they need to be monitored separately. To track their availability, you need to create three monitors, one for each page, using different monitor modes:
- Create one monitor for the Redesigned homepage A in development mode.
- Create one monitor for the Redesigned homepage B in staging mode.
- Create one monitor for the existing Homepage in production mode.
In this scenario, these 3 monitors consume only 2 credits.
